How to Motivate Yourself When You're Working Alone
You've found the ideal work at home job and now you want to know how to motivate yourself to get the work done without a boss standing over you telling you what to do. Practice the following simple suggestions for daily motivation.
Make a List
Your mind will be more settled if you write down your assignments. This is also true for the weekly grocery list, errands and carpool pick up times. Take a few minutes each day to write down everything you need to accomplish. This will free your mind from continuously thinking about the 'what' and move on to the doing.
Break Things Down
When you have a large project to complete, feeling overwhelmed is understandable. It is essential to get past feeling overwhelmed and regain your inspiration. Look at your work list for the day, and break it down into manageable pieces. Then, focus on how to motivate yourself to take the first step. When you've completed the first step, then focus on the next step and so on. You can apply the process of breaking a large job into smaller parts to just about any project.
Set Manageable Deadlines
Nothing is more stressful when working from home than having more work than you can reasonably complete on time. Especially since the boss is not standing over your shoulder, it is stressful to realize you can't meet the deadline you agreed to. Learn to manage your work load so that you can complete it on time. If you consistently work around the clock to meet deadlines, you defeat the purpose of working from home.
Take Frequent Breaks
If you find yourself going in circles and getting nowhere, get up and take a walk or fix a cup of tea. Whatever you do, walk away from your work for a few minutes. The work will still be there when you come back. And, renewed inspiration may be your reward for taking a short break. As with parenting a child, bringing a project to fruition is sometimes both challenging and frustrating. When you are frustrated, you are not productive. Invoke the magic of a few quiet moments to collect your thoughts and stretch your muscles. Your work will improve as a result.
Reward Your Efforts
Even if you had a difficult day staying focused and motivated, reward yourself with something at the end of the day. Just marking something off your to-do list with a fat red marker may be enough to inspire you to get up the next morning and start all over again. A social engagement is even better since it gets you away from your work place altogether.
A daily motivation practice is important when you work alone. With no one to check on your progress, it is up to you to provide your own inspiration. Make a list of your daily goals, break big jobs into smaller pieces and gauge the amount of work you can complete on time. Beyond that, take frequent breaks to clear your mind and reward each accomplishment, regardless of how small.

Cann't afford Healthcare??
As health insurance has become increasingly expensive, more and more employers have decided to cut back on the level of benefits they offer their employees. Higher deductibles, limited visits and decreased services are all being used to cut costs. Many people are now left without these benefits and are forced to pay full price out of pocket when they need them.
Supplemental benefits are easy to ignore when you aren't using them. Vision and prescription are often overlooked until they are needed, but by then it's too late. Hearing services and Nurse line are also part of the package.
Everyone needs to take care of their eyesight, and prescription medications are inevitable at some point to heal an ailment or help lower cholesterol. Good hearing is just as important and nurse line can help give you advice about when a trip to the doctor is in order. We all need these services occasionally, but without these benefits the cost can become very high.
"I have insurance from my employer, but it's a very limited health plan that doesn't include any extras. Getting a discount on these services would be very helpful to keep my cost out of pocket as low as possible", says Tom Nordquist, a part time employee.
Ameriplan is a 17 year old company that offers discount fee for service programs at a low cost to its members. 2 million members nationwide and over half a million providers are all part of the Ameriplan network. Health, Dental, Vision, Prescription, Chiropractic and other programs are also available.
Basic wellness includes vision, prescription, hearing services and nurse line. The cost of the program is $14.95 per month and includes every person who lives in your household, even if they are not family members. This program has replaced basic health which is now being phased out of Ameriplan permanently.
Soon Ameriplan will launch Secure Net, a package of benefits that include many services often overlooked in our lives. Identity theft assistance, Auto club and other benefits are badly needed by all of us, but we rarely consider them until someone has already stolen our credit card or we are broken down on the side of the road.
